Greater Results? ...  Better Habits!

"The best predictor of future results is past behavior."  In the insurance industry we have very complex calculations that work out this premise to the most minute detail-however the premise is still just that simple...  If you've driven like an idiot all your life, we're going to charge you more for insurance because chances are, you're going to continue to drive like an idiot-thus the greater chance of an accident.

I'd like to spend a few minutes this month talking about the corollary to the above premise-that being, if you want different future results, you need to begin behaving differently or create different habits for yourself.  This works both personally and corporately for organizations.  I'm just slightly overweight (yeah right!) - if I'm to change this future result in my life, chances are I need to change my eating and exercise habits.  Likewise, if my business or organization is not growing, I'd better start to look at operating procedures, marketing efforts and pricing strategies to determine what changes need to be made to create better results.

Which brings us to how this fits into the greatest service organization in Chambersburg-the Noontime Lions Club.  We have corporate successes that we can look to in our history along with a number of great men both past and present that have given much in service to our club and our community.  I'd like us to ensure that both those traditions continue by finding new and creative ways to serve and to seek out those current and future leaders in our community and invite them to join us.

We've initiated a membership drive for this coming year (detailed inside this newsletter) and I'm going to ask you to change one of your habits to ensure a greater result.  Create a list of quality individuals in your circle of contacts who you feel would be an asset to our club.  Start talking to them about what a great organization we are, the ways that we serve our community and how you'd love to invite them to a free lunch sometime and introduce them to our club.  Then every 1st & 3rd Tuesday of the month start making those phone calls until one of them agrees to come to next Tuesday's lunch.

Where would you like to see us go as an organization?  I'd love to hear your input. (717)552-3204 or dean@noonlions.com
